The role of the public library has changed dramatically in the last generation. Libraries are a community gateway to learning and information in all forms – including online. Public libraries are cornerstones to e-Vermont projects and the Vermont Department of Libraries works closely with e-Vermont staff. In our program libraries have:
Librarians participating in e-Vermont have led community efforts that range from bringing Internet access to senior meal sites to coordinating an online farmers’ market. They are representative of the creative work happening in libraries around the state. Nationally, libraries are at the forefront of creative online work and digital literacy initiatives.
